About LIS2017

Welcome to the website of the 2017 International Conference on Library and Information Science (LIS 2017). The conference is to be held in Sapporo, Japan during August 23 to 25. LIS 2017 aims to offer a forum for scholars, educators, LIS practitioners and professionals from different countries to share research achievements and to establish research network and to find global partners for future collaboration. Prospective contributors are welcome to submit full papers or abstracts through the online submission system. LIS 2017 welcomes contributors from LIS and other related areas to join this international event.

Call for Papers

LIS 2017 accepts both full papers and abstracts. We accept only manuscripts written in English. Manuscripts written in any language other than English will not be considered. And submit your manuscript in Microsoft Word format.


All submissions to the conference will be reviewed by at least two independent peers for technical merit and content. Manuscripts should conform to Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA Style). Please include contributor’s name, affiliation, mailing address, and email address. We will remove author identifying information before manuscripts are sent to reviewers.

I. Requirements for manuscript preparation.

Code of Conduct:
Contributors must confirm that manuscripts are UNPUBLISHED and NOT under review anywhere else.

Language:
Contributors MUST prepare their manuscripts in English. American or British style is acceptable, but contributors should use one consistently throughout.

Manuscript format:
Manuscripts should conform to APA (American Psychological Association) style. For more technical specification regarding citations and references, please refer to Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
Please download manuscript template for full-paper or abstract to prepare your manuscripts. Contributors who fail to prepare manuscripts in accordance with our “Requirements for manuscript preparation” will be asked to revise and re-submit their manuscripts.
*We reserve the rights to make necessary adjustments to typesetting of manuscript to maintain the quality of proceedings.
File format:
Contributors are required to submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word. Manuscripts submitted in any format other than Microsoft Word will NOT be considered.
If contributors have problem providing manuscripts in the required file format, please email us.

II. Online submission

2. Fill out all the required information to establish your account. Contributors MUST provide valid email addresses.
3. Submit your manuscripts.
4. If your submission is successful, you will receive a confirmation email with paper number.
5. If contributors have more than one manuscript to submit, please use “New Submission” to add other manuscripts.

Registration:

1. Authors who fail to complete registration process, their manuscripts will not be included in the proceedings. Unpaid manuscripts will be treated as withdrawn.
2. If a paper is multi-authored and additional authors would like to attend the conference, each delegate is required to register and pay the registration fee.
3. The conference registration fee covers admission to all conference sessions, conference program booklet, conference proceedings in USB format, lunch and coffee breaks.
4. For those authors who have restrictions by their country on the transfer of fees to another country (either by bank or credit card), please contact the Registration Secretariat at iclis.conf@gmail.com to register and discuss the possibility of on-site payment.
5. Cancellation Policy for the Conference
All cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing to the Registration Secretariat (iclis.conf@gmail.com). For cancellations postmarked on or before 23:59 (GMT+8), June 15, 2017, 75% of the registration fee will be refunded. For cancellations after 23:59 (GMT+8), June 15, 2017, no fees will be refunded.

Getting Around in Sapporo

Sapporo, the biggest city in Hokkaido, is surrounded by beautiful scenery of its dynamic nature, and there are various tourist spots to visit and activities to partake in. Visitors can also enjoy delicious food gathered both from the sea and the mountains. Sapporo is an attractive city that is known for various international events, including the Sapporo Snow Festival.

From Sapporo Subway Station, take Nanboku Line to Odori Station. Change to the subway Tozai Line, and get off at Higashi-Sapporo Station. Exit from Exit 1, and walk to the Convention Center.
